Short Stories 4 Children

IT IS MINE
Jimmy sat in the middle of room with a sad look on his face.
Mother was gathering some laundry when she noticed Jimmy's sad face. She stood by his bedroom doorway.
"You look sad, Jimmy," Mother said.
"My tooth is loose," he said with frown
He wiggled his front top tooth with his fingers and it was loose.
He wiggled his front top tooth with his tongue and it was loose.

"I don't want to lose my toothit is mine!"
Mother smiled and sat next to Jimmy.
" May I see that loose tooth."
Jimmy smiled. Mother said, "Open wide."
Mother smiled and gave Jimmy a big hug.
"Follow me," she said as she walked into the bathroom.
Mother gave Jimmy a hand mirror to hold in his hand.
"Here is a mirror to look at your tooth," she said gently, " Now open wide and what do you see?"
"I see my teeth," Jimmy said.

"Now tell me what you see when I move your loose tooth back but please tell me when it hurts, okay?"
"Okay, "Jimmy said smiling.
So Jimmy opened his mouth wide and mother gently moved the tooth back.
"Now what do you see, Jimmy?"
Jimmy grinned and said, "I see another tooth."
For the rest of the day, Jimmy smiled and told everyone in his class about this tooth being loose.
