Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies

These chocolate chip cookies are truly delicious. It is a recipe that has been perfected as it's been passed down from generation to generation in my family. This recipe makes a large batch so I often share with co-workers, all the neighborhood kids along with their parents enjoy them and they are a great hit in the kids' classrooms. You can also put finished cookies in a freezer bag and freeze them. It's a great way to have a back-up snack and they are great even when they are frozen. Have fun with this one. I know you'll love it.

Because this is a large batch, a large mixer is recommended but if you don't mind a little work out, you can also use a large bowl with a hand held mixer.

Get your cookie sheets and cooling racks together. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and get ready to bake!

Ingredients:
1 C. butter
1 C. shortening
2 C. brown sugar
2 C. white sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 C. oatmeal
2 C. rice krispies
24 oz. chocolate chips
Walnuts (optional)
Milk on the side (optional)

Start with the butter, shortening, sugars (brown and white), eggs and vanilla. Mix these ingredients until smooth and creamy.

Next, you add; flour, baking powder and baking soda, oatmeal, rice krispies. Mix well. After adding these ingredients, the batter will NOT be smooth and creamy. Now add the chocolate chips. Mix again until chocolate chips are evenly spread. Use a small spoon and place lightly molded balls onto cookie sheet (do not roll dough, just gently mold).

Bake for about 10 min., let cool and get ready to eat the best cookie you've ever had. Enjoy!
