With or without gifts, any first time father is all smiles when that first Father's Day rolls around. You can add to his pride and joy on this day by selecting a Father's Day gift he will cherish forever. Here are some ideas for great Father's Day gifts for first time fathers.

Any new dad will love an over-sized rocking chair to sit comfortably in as he rocks his baby to sleep. A glider would be nice too. Add some nice cushions that match the room decor.

He will need a place to store all the new photos of his precious bundle of joy, so get him some good albums. Buy one that will expand and buy refill pages to hold various sizes of photos. A new dad will want a picture in every room, on every wall and one in his office, so get him some nice frames in various styles, shapes and sizes.

For those who plan to spend a little more, why not help him catch all the important "firsts" in live action? Go all out and get him a camcorder.

A nice CD of lullaby music will calm a nervous new dad as much as it will the baby. You'll find a nice selection at Sleep Lullabyes. A headset is perfect for the times he wants to listen to his own favorites as he feeds the baby. Get him a CD of his favorite music, it won't disturb the baby with a headset.

You can buy videos on how to do just about anything now. How about one on how to change a diaper or how to burp a baby. Find lots of brief but instructional how to videos on parenting at 5 min parenting.

*More Unique Gift Ideas

Buy a Gift Certificate at a good studio for baby's first formal photograph. Consider a journal for the new dad to write down his own thoughts.
