It's Father's Day and you want to give your Father something special, something that truly expresses your love and appreciate for him. There are many sayings about Father's you can use that may be better than you could say yourself. A handmade card with a few sayings that expresses your love, admiration and respect for your Father is a great way to start Father's Day.
Here are a few quotes I think are appropriate for Father's Day:

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys." ~Harmon Killebrew

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years. ~Mark Twain, "Old Times on the Mississippi" Atlantic Monthly, 1874

"My father was very strong. I don't agree with a lot of the ways he brought me up. I don't agree with a lot of his values, but he did have a lot of integrity, and if he told us not to do something, he didn't do it either." ~ Madonna
If you should prefer to use your own words a place to start would be to write down everything you are thankful for about your Dad. What did he teach you, how did he show you love and respect. What makes him unique?
Once you have on paper the answers to some of these questions you will have a much easier time putting together a few sayings that will reflect your feelings for your Dad. Don't wait or be shy about telling your Dad how much you love him.
My Dad passed away 3 years ago. I'd like to close with a few reflections of him. My Dad was not my Father and my Father was not my Dad. My Father taught me about selfishness and abandonment. My Dad taught me to be respectful, he taught me unconditional love. He taught me how to drive, how to love and how to trust. If given a choice, I'll take a Dad any day over a Father and I am thankful I took the time to let Dad know what he meant to me before he passed away.
