Movie reviews: Star Trek Generations

Star Trek: Generations premiered on the big screen in November of 1994 and was the seventh Star Trek film to be shown in theaters. This film was the first in the series to have the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation along with three of the Original series actors. The movie was mainly to introduce the audience to the Next Generation cast that was taking over the movie franchise.

The Enterprise B, the newest starship to bear the name was heading out for its maiden voyage and three of the previous Enterprise crew members had been asked to join her on her first voyage out into space. Retired Captain James T. Kirk, retired Commander Pavel Chekov and retired Captain Montgomery Scott were the ones who had been asked to join the newest ship's maiden voyage. The ship continues to be rocked hard by the distortions from the ribbon and Scotty and Kirk finally decide to use Photon torpedoes to see if it can help get them free. To their amazement, they discover that the ship has not been equipped with the torpedoes as yet. So Scotty devises another way, by using the navigational deflector to aid them. At first, Captain Harriman is determined to go and leave Kirk in charge, but Kirk urges him to stay with his ship and he will go.

So Kirk heads to the bowels of the ship, to modify the deflector so it can get them out the situation that they are in. As the ship around him is rocked by the ribbons power, Kirk manages to do what he is needed to do and is able to get the ship free. As the ship moves away, part of the energy ribbon lashes out and hits the ship, leaving a gash in the side of the ship. Upon
