alone I sit and watch the bug
as he walks across what must seem like miles
he trudges along and I smile at his pain
the blade across my wrist all the while
I feel the cold from the bathroom floor
and wonder if ever anyone will find me here
as I pull the blade across the flesh
and scream a scream only I can hear
rushing around, people to and fro
so many people I didn't know they cared
my head to one side and my eyes aglaze
a memory, a thought that was shared
yet I feel no pain in this world of calm
I feel not the slice the knife produced on my wrist
I see them shouting and can't hear their words
what is the meaning, what did I miss
am I crazy to think that it all could end
with a swipe, an act, or a chance of fleeting mirth
would this craziness leave me if I had finished the task
would anyone remember my death or my birth
feeling returning and my fears are revealed
a scream from my lips escapes and fades
the question remains, am I crazy to think
that with this act my fears I would soon evade
Crazy or not the deed is done
and crying and weeping is surrounding me
and all I can think of is this woman who gave me birth
asking me the question: Are you Crazy?!
