Dates are supposed to be fun, relaxed and friendly. A wrong word or gesture from either the guy or the girl, can send the partner running off in a second. Girls like it if their partner is relaxed, confident and entertaining. This does not mean that the male should be over-confident, too sure of himself or too arrogant. A self-absorbed guy is the biggest turn-off. Just like that, girls should not just talk about themselves, try to look pretty or ignore the guy completely.

The biggest tip is : BE YOURSELF!
No, really. Be yourself. Even if you think the guy will not like it if you told him you hate vintage cars, or you have no interest in sports or that you are not very smart, you should NEVER pretend to be someone you are not. You don't have to impose your likes or dislikes onto the other person. You also dont have to dislike the other just because he/she is not your picture of the ideal date.

Show your date that you have interest in him/her.
If you are distracted, distant or staring at your plate, your partner is sure to be very humiliated. Don't make your date feel as if he/she is boring you to death. Sometimes you don't really know it, but you are playing with your napkin or your bracelets or staring at some person across the room, distracted by some shiny object or dress. A date can bring out the magpie in you. Wghen you are nervous, you are easily distracted. All of this can result in annoying you partner because you are not listening to anythign he/she is saying nor are you saying much.

Include him/her in the conversation.
The biggest mistake you could possibly make is to ramble on and on about something without stopping to see how the other is reacting or letting the other comment. This makes the conversation very tedious for your partner.

Be polite, considerate, and courteous.
Do not lose your temper, don't scream at waiters, dont laugh like a hyena, dont scratch yourself or pick your nose. Be at our best behavior. Treat the girl like a lady. Hold out her chair for her, open teh car and the restaurant door for her, and be sure to bring her flowers (Even if it is a single rose - which is far more romantic than a bouquet)

Try to dress as casually as possible.
Appearing too dressed up can make your partner nervous and feel out of place. Dress according to the place you are going. There is no need to wear too much makeup. Be yourself!

other important things:
*Body odour is the worst thing that can happen. Use lots and lots of deo if its a hot day/night.
*Girls can douse a cotton ball with their favourite eu de cologne and stick it in their bra to continue smelling good.
*Shoes matter. Dirty, scruffy shoes are a huge turn-off and give the impression that you could not care less about the date.
*Paint your toe-nails. They make a huge difference.
*Remember mints!
*Have fun..
