Best carpet cleaning products

by Meghann

With all the cleaning and stain removal products available today, how do you know which one to use on what stain? Are all natural cleaning products better than chemicals? Are there all natural cleaning products for every type of stain? Do the research. Carpet is one of the toughest things to rid of stainss So many different kinds of stains can happen, and many different types of carpet to consider.

Probably the most common stain for carpets is traffic. The quickest and most effective product on the market (without breaking the bank) is Resolve High Traffic Foam. Simply spray the foam, rub it in, let it dry, then vacuum it up. Talk about easy! It works quickly and the best part is it doesn't leave behind a residue that attracts more filth. You are left with a clean and fresh carpet. It works great for spot treatments or for large areas. It may take multiple cans to finish the job because you will see the dramatic results and keep going.

Another headache of a stain to deal with is dark colored liquids. Kool aid, coffee, and wine seem to set in so quickly and not let go. The best cure for this type of stain is an average houshold iron. Saturate the stain with warm water and place a white cotton cloth over it. With the iron on the low setting let it set on the dry white cloth for about 15 minutes. The warm water will weaken the stain, the heat will loosen or "melt" the carpet fibers, and the dry cloth will absorb the stain. It may take a couple repetitions depending on how bad and how old the stain is, but the added benefit of this method is that it is all natural and no harmful chemicals. Patience is definitely key for this, but the payoff is worth it.

After a few years carpet tends to look a little flat and tired, and no amount of vacuuming will make it fluffy like it once was A good refreshening and deoderizing can make a dramatic difference. The H2O Mop (as seen on tv) is a lightweight and powerful little secret weapon. This mop has a triangle shaped head perfect for those hard to reach corners and for manuvering in and around tight spaces. It heats up quickly and after a few swipes you are left with , deoderized, and rejuvenated carpet. It is also ideal for pet odor and urine smells. Once again, no chemicals needed. The steam gives those pesky stains a swift right hook and knocks them out!

Not all carpet stains are dramatic. For the everyday spills and messes try using baby wipes. Preferably Huggies brand because they have texture that agitates stains helping to break them up. Wipes are a cheap and easy solution to just about any stain, and safe for your family.

Carpet stains are just a fact of life, but it does not mean chemicals are the only solution. All natural cleaning products and cleaning solutions made of average household items can be just as effective and healthier for you, your family, and the environment.
