Homeschool regulation must be a top priority

Why should home schooling regulations be a top priority in this country? Personally, I do not think thy should be a top priority at all.We have far too muh government interventin in our lives as it is. Home schooling is a personal decision, and one that the parents should have the right to carry out in their own way.Home schooling is not weird, or defiance on the part of the parent. Since he Supreme Court has traditionally upheld the parent's right to educate their children in the way that they see fit, we need to get on with what God has called us to do. The goevernment should not make this choice nearly impossible for them to carry out in an efficient manner. Some states are ridiculous in what they they expect. Home schooling is not expected to be like school,it is a school alternative.

Let me clearly state here that I beleive in accountablility in home schooling. A parent's first accountability is to God, not the United States or state government. Any parent who sincerly endeavors to educate their child will do their best to see that their child receives a well-rounded education. They will see that their child makes steady, age or ability appropriate progress in their learning.Even if not required by their state, I would urge all home schoolers to test their child, to verify their progress.

One idea espoused by many people is that home schoolers are right winged conspirators whare rying to raise little anti-establishment robots. Manybelieve that thisn is the nstuf terrorists are made of. While this may certainly be the goal of some people, it would be such a miniscule amount of people that it defies reality to believe that simply because you home school and want do it in the way that best benefits your child, you are a right winged conspirator who wants to defy the government. I home schooled, my state was fairly easy to comply with, and I had no trouble with that complying. I even set up home school programs for others and realized that they were recieving the best education possible. I was not then and still am not a right wing conspirator. I am, was and will remain a moderate conservative. My children, now grown, are well educated, free thinkers, and eminently socially acceptable.

Everything in our world seems to require out of proportion government intervention. Our homes and privacy rights are being invaded in every direction. We need to back off and let people make their God-given choices concerning their own families.
