1776 was a memorable year
It was a time when men stopped living in fear
When 13 colonies believed freedom was a sacred word
And individuals woke up and stopped being part of a herd
When men were inclined not to accept their fate
Of tyranny, taxation, and oppression from the State
A new system of government was diligently selected
Where Life, Liberty, and Property were guaranteed and protected
A Constitution was written and set a new nation free
We were a beacon of liberty for the world to see
This Republic has been alive for over 200 years
But the machine of oppression has many gears
The era of liberty has been all but too brief
Where the history of despotism is long and full of grief
We have struggled together through thick and thin
If our nation is to be destroyed it will come from within
When forgotten is the price that patriots pay
Slowly, incrementally our freedom will be taken away
When a government can engage in deceit and lies
And employ the use of domestic spies
When economic liberty has been managed and coerced
And fiat currency fills everyman's purse
When wars are undeclared with no end in sight
And the law of the land is the rule of might
Now the road to serfdom is long and hidden
But one that is well trod and often ridden
For when history is forgotten and facts become skewed
Once more can the many become subjected by the few
But do not lose hope do not despair
Humanity can triumph if it remains aware
Our Founding Fathers had clearly saw
That all men have rights before God and Law
So let us not be complacent amidst these deceptive ruses
Men have fought and died against such abuses
To omnipotent government there remains a solution
It is the Ron Paul Revolution!
