Poetry: Rejection

by Cheryl Brand

Created on: June 11, 2008

THE REJECTED IS THE REDEEMER

The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone
The wood that the carpenters rejected became the cross of His Glory
The children that He made rejected Him and became His chosen ones
The grapes that the fathers threw out has become the food of the children

The vines that the farmer discarded became the soil that the grew the Rose of Sharon
The olive fields of the Promised Land were the resting place of my Lord
The Via Dela Rosa, the place where my Savior trod, will become the place of His return
The thing that Satan meant for evil, my God shall turn to good.

That which was meant for my demise will become the hanging place for Hamaan
And that which was meant for my downfall will become the stepping-stone
The axe that was lost in the water my Lord shall float for me
And the lamb that was for my eating has become that with which to atone.

The Savior of the World is also my friend and companion
The God of all mankind has become my Father
The Spirit of God the Third Person of the Godhead is my comforter
What can man do to me when I have God as my Redeemer?
