Does religion divide or segregate people

Can you imagine what the world would be like if religion in the modern day was nothing more than an oddity that some people turned to when they had nowhere else to turn. Can you imagine how advanced our technology would be if religion had never taken the foothold in society that it has done today?

We would be hundreds of years, at least a hundred years in advance of what we are now. Religion has done so much more damage than just creating divides within our society; it has created more suffering and intolerance than any other event in the history of mankind. It has caused more death than most wars and yet we still look at religion as something that is good.

Religion is a lie. Religion is a fallacy and it is nothing more than a distraction from discovering that, YOU, are quite simply amazing. Yes, we are each as amazing as each other, we each possess strengths and weaknesses but religion focuses on the weakness of the individual and exploits it, that is why religion is so successful, because people simply are in fear of the unknown and religion' supposedly gives you the answers and stops you from being literally scared of the dark.

IT not only takes your fear, but uses that fear against you, fear is your weakness and your literal dog collar. It is what controls you and your actions. It makes decisions for you before your brain has had a chance to react. Your fear can consume you and you will never know about it. Your fear is your control mechanism and it is this that religion exploits.

How does religion divide and segregate people? Well, it does this very efficiently by creating intolerance amongst its followers. Once intolerance has been accepted as a normal way to interact with people it is not long before the views held by the intolerant peoples becomes self-centered and the truth' to them. Once they believe what they are saying is the truth and there is no way to change their minds, there opinions will become biased and will be based upon what they believe' to be the truth.

With this biased mind set, it is not difficult for two parties to disagree, this disagreement is not an adult disagreement but a childish disagreement, in that, they don't really know why they are disagreeing but they are positively sure that they are correct and this goes for both sides. With the two corners convinced that each is true and correct, it is not long before their opinions are divided into defined groups and because of this difference of opinion they soon become segregated due to the biased views they hold.

This can be called a Superiority Complex' and all humans really do think they are better than each other. The Superiority Complex is one of the major problems that religion has created, it has done so much more than divide and segregate people, it has been the reason to why hundreds of thousands, possible millions of people, have been put to death, all in the name of Religion.
