Often you hear poeople saying about how much video games rot the brain and cause violence amongst teenagers and even younger children whose parents buy them games with age ratings well above their own ages. This has been a dispute for a long time and a controversial subject everywhere.
I will begin by talking about my first Video game console. On my 9th christmas I sprinted downstairs and shredded the wrapping off what I hoped was underneath. Sheer delight kicked in and I was dancing round the living room while kissing the box in my hand. Within 20 minutes it was setup and I jammed in my first ever game. As you guessed this console was the world renowned Sony Playstation one. The first game I ever played was a game called Croc, It was an animated game about a Fantasy crocodile whose friends "The gobbos" were stolen by a Bad guy and you had to go on an epic mission to save every one of them and return their Paradise lands back to normal. The game was complicated and required a lot of thinking and puzzle solving to complete the various missions, This does not sound like the type of game that is going to be be bad for a teenager. Most games on this console required vast amounts of thinking and puzzle solving such as tomb raider.

These consoles are fantasic, the graphics are from another world and the speeds they load are unbelievable, Wireless controls and internet play are the new generation of consoles. The Playstation One is a world away from the Xbox 360. Along with all these new changes come changes to the Games that come with them. Not only have the price tags increased but so has the content of the games. The games Range from Motor sport right the way through to action games and even simulation games games such as the new rock band and guitar hero's that have made their mark in the gaming industry over the last 3 years. Each and every game is Age rated and marked as suitable for children and teenagers, however parents ignore these warnings and buy the games for their children anyway. Such games as manhunt and Grand theft Auto do induce violence amongst children but are rated so only responsible adults can play them, If parents do not heed these warnings then it is their fault that their children are violent or copy actions performed in the games.
However a video game is taken way to serious by boffins who say tests have shown that
