Presidential candidate's health is a flimsy topic. They try to show the public that they have ideal health. Healthy body and sound mind are the prerequisites of the decision making. The American president is to decide the fate of not only the USA but also the whole world. As the American president has the widest range of responsibilities and powers; he should be the healthiest person on the face of the earth. The exhaustive routine of the president demands the sound health to meet his hectic schedule. That is why health has become an essential subject for presidential candidates. Presidential candidates of America are among the few persons who are the sight for the billions of eyes. One of them is to rule the sole super power of the world after winning the election along with his vice president. If he is suffering from some chronic disease or any other fatal illness, he will be a bane not a boon for the country.
Today's media is not letting the presidents or the presidential candidates to conceal the facts about their health. Not only media but also the presidential candidates use media to convey their healthy and positive images to show that they are strong figure in the arena of politics. Excellent health or at least pretension of it has become a tool to show the worth and value of the candidates.
There are a lot of historic evidences that people in the helm of the affairs were disable and took help of the assistants to run the affairs of the state. Some presidents could not even put a signature on their decrees due to disability. Not only the American but also the rulers of the other countries were also handicapped to do their daily business. A governor general of Pakistan was paralyzed and did not relinquish the charge of his post till his death. Although there are some criteria ascribed about the selection of the president yet there are no clear cut rules about the disability of the presidents.
There are two opinions about the revelation of the secrets about presidential candidate's health. There is a lobby that stresses the point that the candidates should disclose their health, and the other section of society is of the view that it is the infringement of the basic human rights.
