Numb3rs
His whole life was constructed around numbers. They led him to his fruitful career, comfortable lifestyle, and a future with his gorgeous fiance, Nancy. Sometimes he was told he took it a little too far, becoming almost obsessed with numbers. So, who cares? Numbers are important in all walks of life.
His mother taught him to count at an early age, 3 as a matter of fact. Enthusiasm filled the little boy as he used his fingers, blocks, pebbles, or anything within his grasp to count. His favorite memory was one day in the grocery story as he and his mother traded numbers, counting up to a hundred.
He graduated with high honors in both high school and college. Numbers remained his passion, and lead to his accounting career. Math came easy to him, and numbers continued his career up the leadership ladder.
Everything he did by numbers, from the exact time he fried his eggs each morning, to the amount of money he spent on his car repairs. Charts and graphs filled his desk, but thanks to numbers he met the love of his life.

One thing led to another, their personalities and likes meshed, and soon they were making wedding plans. Sam proposed on June 9th, their three month anniversary. It was quite a step out of Sam's comfort zone to allow Nancy to completely take over the planning of the wedding.

The day had been as any other, though a little more tiring than some. Walking into the lobby of his apartment complex calmed Sam's nerves; it was here he began his nightly ritual.
Taking exactly 33 seconds, Sam glanced over the mail that had accumulated in his mail box during the day. Then he walked the 3 paces over to the 13 stairs that lead to his apartment door. Subconsciously Sam counted the steps as he always had done before. 1...2...3... When he first moved in, he calculated the time and steps right
