My Niece must have the best summer job ever and the thing is she does it every year. What is it she does? Well she works on food stalls from burger vans to sweet stalls from about may to october. Not very exciting you say, well how about she does this with all her friends at every single concert and outdoor event going she's been doing it since she was 16, they stay for weekends camp out and get to watch their favourite bands on their break.
Last year she was at T in the park. Glastonbury, the reading festival you name it she was there. I was so jealous, why couldn't they have had that available when I was her age. They also pay very well she made 350($700) one weekend.
The best things to get into if you can is promo work, handing out anything from leaflets to t-shirts, you can bag alot of cash and often bonuses if you do a whole event, there was one I saw for people promoting the nintendo wii, they paid 80($160) a day plus expenses and if you did the whole weekend you got a bonuses of 200($400)it also teaches you a great deal about running, organising an event so you can pick up manger pointers if thats the type of thing you want to go into.
There are generally companies you can register with in order to get that type of work or try word of mouth and see if you can pick up anything. Other great jobs are signing up to be tv extra's though that could be a little hit and miss, then there is doing jobs like game testing or being paid to watch movie trailers, these can be hard to come across but still it's worth a try and what can be cooler than being paid to play your favourite games.
Looking up the Internet is definitely a good source of not only info but to give you Ideas on what you maybe able to do. Or if your fairly creative and you make things, design things or paint why not find all your local craft fairs and events and try selling your stuff after all you never know who might be there. Failing that Try and see if maybe someone wants help at an event. Then your not only being paid for it your getting in free.
If your good at sports or have hobbies like photography, look for volunteer jobs when you can utilise your talents and have fun at the same time, like youth activity centres for example or sports clubs helping supervise younger kids.
So if you don't fancy the usual summer job then look for the unusual and you may be surprised at whats available.
