Do You Party Like Mike?

Relaxing with friends and family is one of Michael Jordan's favorite pastimes. He loves nothing more than to take a break from his busy public life and celebrate with the people he loves. Here are his three favorite ways to entertain, Michael Jordan-style:

1. Beach Jam and Bonfire.
There are few settings as perfect for a group gathering as the beach. Michael likes to have his friends and family meet him at the beach for a good old-fashioned barbecue and bonfire. They start the day early with a refreshing swim, followed by beach sports: a causal game of touch football, Frisbee with the kids, a game or two of beach volleyball, and maybe even a quick trip to the basketball court (if anyone feels up to playing with Mike). Time for another quick swim, and then it's time to feed the crowd. Michael brings along his own grill for the main course, juicy Angus hamburgers on soft potato rolls, served with potato salad, Cole slaw and fresh-roasted corn on the cob. The kids make their own lunch by roasting all-beef hot dogs over the campfire. The fun continues into the afternoon, then after dinner it's time to gather around the fire pit, stoke up the flames, and relax as day fades into evening and the bonfire burns bright into the night.

2. Michael's Mountain Retreat
Sometimes, when the city starts to feel to constricting, Michael and his family slip away for a quiet retreat in the mountains. Days are spent enjoying nature, fishing on the lake, hiking, bicycling and cooking together as a family. Michael's family loves this chance to entertain each other, cooking favorite old family recipes like tri-tip sandwiches and grilled T-bone steak or new flavors like a prime or choice flat-iron steak. There is nothing Mike enjoys quite like a meal with his family outdoors among evergreen trees, hearing the birds chirping and smelling the fragrance of the food mingling with the fresh clean scent of the trees. Moments such as this build life-long memories.

3. Home Sweet House Party
Michael's favorite way to entertain is when he opens his home for family celebrations. He loves to see everyone enjoying themselves in his home. You never know what kind of party to expect when you receive an invitation to the Jordan house. It could be a costume party, pool party, Luau, scavenger hunt for the kids, a pirate party or a friendly 3-on-3 tournament. No matter what the occasion is, Michael takes great care to make sure that his guests have a special day.

Whatever the theme may be, whether at the beach, in the mountains, or in his own back yard, Mike's guests are guaranteed to have a great time and leave with great memories and full bellies. Michael loves to feed his guests, to see their satisfied faces and hear their sighs of contentment after eating a perfectly cooked fillet mignon or pepper-crusted New York strip. No matter the venue, or the occasion, every one of his guests wants to host like Mike.
