Poetry: Aging

by Kechi Egonu

Created on: June 10, 2008

slowly........
Deliberately.....
She walk towards me.
looking up at her,
i couldn't help but notice the depth of beautiful lines
nature had drawn on her face,
each having a story to tell,
of events not belonging to my generation.
The slight bend of her body
and quiver of her voice,
shoot my mind back to when she was a budding beauty.
Deliberately she continues her strides,
filled with grace and poise,
rich qualities she had picked as a youth
and which have helped her in aging gracefully.
