First, write an article on something you know well and think you can contribute to.
Pick a point you are trying to get across, and make sure that you are answering the question that was asked. Try to get some novel insight into something. If you are going to use quotes, try to explain how it is relevant. On several articles i had no idea how to put together the quote with what they were trying to explain.
Just take this advice, it doesn't have to be perfect. It should after you read it explain what you meant, and put in as many examples as you have to to get at the essence of what you want to say. Afterwards publish it, rate some articles, try to find out what mistakes they are making if you thought they were poorly written. Then write some more, and eventually you will be really good at writing Helium articles thoroughly, goodluck and have fun!
