MY BUTTERFLY
Innocent and beautiful
As a butterfly on the wing,
She loved to dance and mess around,
And she especially liked to sing.
No one could have prepared me,
For the news I'd hear that night,
I'd close my eyes, and shake my head,
I couldn't keep her image out of my sight.
It's not my fault, I know, I know!
I didn't even know her too terribly well...
But HOW could I have let her go?
I wouldn't have...If I had known she'd leave us here.
The sense of guilt because I didn't know,
How often I'd thought of her,
Until she passed and left us behind,
Our friendship and love in tow.
At first I didn't understand,
How God could have taken her,
But now I know she'd done her job,
And is walking with HIM hand-in-hand.
But we were only in 4th grade!
She had a whole life to live!
Never would she walk the aisle,
Or smile at her newborn child.
She'd never see her father's pain,
As that strange man carried her long, white train,
She'd never see her mother's glee,
As she came to visit with her new family.
But neither would I see her walk the aisle,
Or smile at her newborn child,
And I would never see her at the prom,
Dancing happily all night long.
NO ONE would see her anymore,
And this shook me right down to the core,
For someone like this precious girl,
Deserved to have lived a little more.

Poetry: Death of a loved one

Heaven Has My Hero Now
Heaven has my hero now,
My life with you is gone.
It's changed in oh, so many ways
But yet continues
"Never"
(In Loving Memory
For my Tattooed Queen)
Taken away before your time,
The debt paid before the crime,
Left but never
The Long Wait
The leaves fell down
Upon the autumn grass;
Frailty in every shade of red...
I sat by the window for a closer
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you
Neither sunrise nor sunset that I don't hear your voice
Or miss your laugh
And
Lights shine off in the distance
Nothing but blackness appears
There is resistance
Death whispers in my ear
He talks of a life
