A Father's Cry

I know you,
You are mine,
But you hide from me,
Why?

Is it your pride?
Is it your fear?
All I ask is for an open ear.

Running frantically in desperate search of life,
Searching to fill a love and completion only I can give,
If only you would listen,
If only you would take the time,
Let me show you what I have to give.

If you give me the chance,
I am willing to show you what it means to live,
If you let down your guard I will show you a perfect love.

I know how it feels to be alone,
You have left me missing you.

When will you not hide?
When will you hear?
When will you stop this running in circles?
When will you stop this futile search?

There's so much I want to tell you,
So much I want to share,
I want you to see my love for you,
Don't you care?

I wait for you,
I call out to you,
I cry because I miss you.

Just give me a moment,
I only ask for a chance,
I promise you won't regret it,
Don't be afraid to take the chance.

I AM the love you want,
I AM the rest you need,
I AM the peace to ease your mind,
I AM your friend, in deed,
And I will love you always.
