The foundational, key roles in a family are the husband and the wife. Marriage brings a man and woman together to begin a family. Many would say that a family begins when children are born. That can't be exactly correct. How many couples out there became married with intentions of having a "family" later on and then, were not or are not able to have children? Does that make a husband and wife any less of a family? Family means at least two people dedicating 100% of their lives to each other in bringing out the best in the other person, helping the other person realizing their dreams, valuing each other and like I once heard said, "arguing over who serves each other more."

Men and women need each other. Women, I have observed, generally know how to reach out to others...they have an innate sense of when someone is ailing and what must be done to help heal the ache. Women enjoy being part of the healing process and know that time and love and a listening ear will aid in the long run. Men, I have observed, generally are able to see the world through a lens free from emotion, an outsiders' view even. Men are generally concerned in findng the problem and offering the solution for a quick fix. Are either of these perspectives wrong? No. Each complements the other. Men and women, as the basic partners in the marriage union and as the foundation of a fmaily, need each other, learn from each, and experience fullness of joy by committing to each other.

This is a family...committing the rest of your life and on into the eternities to the one person who will aid and allow you to become your very best self, and while she's doing that for you, you are doing the same for her.
