2007, The Messiah comes to New Hampshire?
I was reading yesterday's headlines, when one particular headline caught my eye. It read, "The Messiah comes to New Hampshire." This was a blog I read on Real Clear Politics. The article basically stated about how the media is hyping political Presidential Candidate? Senator Barak Obama.
The report spoke about over 100 national reporters coming to New Hampshire to this event. It was unprecedented and reported as such. The article spoke about this new media star of politics, and the hopes many people are placing on the Senator.
There are many articles being written about him both for and against his candidacy. Many say he has to little experience in public office and on a managerial level. Others say he is ready for such an undertaking. He has the charisma, the intelligence, and stamina for such a time as this. I will let you, the reader decide that issue.
What really hit me about the article was its title, The Messiah comes to New Hampshire. Immediately, I harkened back to some end-time movies about the rapture, tribulation, etc. In one such series, a world wide politician came on the seen as President Maccarusso. Another movie based on Tim Lahey's book was Nicoli Carpathia, who was the Secretary General of the United nations. The other series I watched was the Omega code, where a Alexander Stone became the leader of the world. All three of these political figures were portrayed as the "Messiah", when in reality they were the anti-Christ.
What struck me about the article on real clear politics was how the media is promoting Senator Obama to be our political savior. I have read political analysis about what the media's agenda seems to be concerning Senator Obama. The experts believe the media exhorts and empowers a particular candidate to later tear them down to make the campaign a horse race for better television ratings. This again may be their tactic, but there is something more behind this present hype about Senator Obama.
I am not saying he is the anti-Christ. Do not confuse the intent of this article. What I am proposing is that something deeper spiritually is happening in the coverage of the Senator on television and the articles being written. The articles, and television reports I have seen have been at least 95% positive to 5% negative concerning the Senator. There does seem to be a media frenzy over him becoming a candidate. There seems to be such a need in the media to find "someone" like him to come on the political,
