Remembering back on the beginning of our relationship, I can honestly say, it was not love at first sight. More like annoyance at first sight. I was 19 years old with a huge "Princess Complex". I walked around with my nose promptly posed towards the sky most of the time. Never allowing myself to be tripped up by the lower class, who graveled at my feet. Or so I thought. Having said that, he was not my type and I found him arrogant and beneath me. He was merely someone I would have to deal with to get what I wanted at the time. Little did I know that meeting him on that cool November day, would be the start to a life long relationship.
I sat in the office awaiting a job interview with an half a dozen other people. This in itself annoyed me. I shifted in my chair and tried not to make eye contact with the people around me. I was not used to being kept waiting and my patience was growing thin. Just as I was about to get up and leave I heard a rather irritating loud noise outside in the parking lot. I turned to look out the windows that covered the front of the office, to see what was causing such a commotion. It was an idiot on a motorcycle revving his engine a few 100 feet away. Then with little warning he literally flew past the windows, launching himself and the bike over a speed bump. All of the men in the office were amazed and were applauding and cheering. I, on the other hand, shook him off as being insane. I turned to the secretary at the front desk and said, "Who the hell was that idiot"? She smiled and replied, "Your interviewer"! My heart sank.
Moments later, Mr. Motorcycle man entered the office taking off his helmet and gloves. Without even looking at me he addressed me by name and told me to have a sit in the chair next to his desk a few feet away. I was appauled! No one had ever talked to me so rudely. Who the hell did he think he was? I had been waiting for over half an hour. I was the one who was on time and he didn't even offer an apology for his lateness. I didn't move a muscle. I just sat there looking at him in pure shock. Again, he spoke, no more politely than the first time, I might add. "Miss, I don't have all day"! I slowly stood and walked over to the chair and sat down, thinking I should give this guy a piece of my mind right here and now. But I won't make a scene. Besides everyone in the room was now staring at me. I had to save face.
After a few questions, which he appeared not to be listening to the answers I gave, he informed me that
