Teachings of angels
One day, a boy lost in the world made a phone call to a girl because the moon told him to. The girl that he called must have been shocked by this oddity. Little did she know how shocked he would be to see her face to face shortly there after. The call had been a strange occurrence, a month earlier the boy was a different person, he had a nice home, two sloppy black dogs, a few cars he shared and a woman who he had called a wife for nearly two years. That life was gone now, a legal action that is far too common in our society claimed his marriage, the cost of settling for the wrong girl. But, what a fool he had been! Years ago the girl he was now calling had been right there wanting to be his angel! Through a series of misplaced logical thoughts and scared reactions he decided the timing was just not right at the time and besides that, she was much younger than him and blind to the ways of the world, or so he thought. He hurt her and ran away.
Now, as he drove back to his parents' home (a place that was a last resort and hopefully very temporary), he watched the moon and not the road. It was later in the evening and the moon was suspended on the right side of a windy road he often took from south side of town back to the vast communities of suburbs to the west. The light from the over sized moon was so bright headlights were futile and nearly unnecessary in the soft glow of white light. Looking at the sky he became compelled to make a call. How had he remembered the number? The thought alone was amazing to him and why out of the blue did he think of her? It was so long ago. The call turned into a series of messages flickering back and forth. He feared she wouldn't remember him or maybe she wouldn't even talk to him. For the moment he didn't want to tell her who it was, just for that fear. But, as the messages followed, it appeared her curiosity had the best of the situation and he was excited about them meeting again. They arranged a casual situation to see each other.
The night he came to see her it was a chilly July night, which was odd and that much more uncomfortable. Her beauty broke the ice and there was something she would never know, how instantaneously when he looked at her, he felt the breath pulled from his lungs and a lump in his chest. She was beautiful, long sandy hair, that matched her light brown eyes, her face shined like an angel and he felt warm when she smiled. They sat and talked for hours, catching up on life and the
