Reasons for forgiveness

by Vicki Phipps

Created on: June 09, 2008

Forgiveness is the key to serenity. I always knew it was true, but peace of mind is hard to find in a bitter mind. There couldn't possibly be a human being more bitter than I used to be and forgiveness seemed to be too far from my ability to reach. I'd tell you why, but if I did, I'd have to go back down that bitter road again, so I won't go there. Even so and although I refuse to go back down that bitterness road, I'd like to describe my journey to find forgiveness. which lead me to peace of mind. Just keep in mind that forgiveness released bitterness from me and literally saved my life. That's the first reason why we need to forgive and be forgiven in life.

WHAT FORGIVENESS BRINGS TO HUMAN BEINGS:

Another reason we need forgiveness is due to the fact that we are human beings who get mad or sad and when we do, we tend to dwell within those mad or sad thoughts for far too long. Since that's true, sometimes mad and sad becomes like a cell in hell, where we remain victimized. The only key to unlock the prison is to forgive or be forgiven.

Bitterness comes from resentment which derives from anger and all three revolve around fear. When we get angry, it meas we're afraid of something. What that might be could be hidden in the back of our minds, but most likely it's due to the fact that we get confused when it comes to the truth. The truth is why they say, "God works in mysterious ways." The following true things are the reason why forgiveness is required in life.

THE TRUTH: STRIFE, DEMISE AND LIFE

1. The truth is that life will never be fair and square for each and every human being.

We are born equally valued with the right to a happy life, but the catch is the fact that God gave each and every human being a free will to chose. This means we get confused. The diversity leads to bad people, things and happenings now and then. The confusion also brings sin, but God gave us the key to surviving sin in the end. Due to this truth, I've learned a few things about life and why God gave us the ability to forgive people, things, happenings and the sin that we, unintentionally attract to our lives.

2. For every demise, God leaves a blessing in disguise and a lesson for life.

I've come to believe we are only here to learn and teach. If we arrived as, "a know it all," there would be no purpose to life at all. God gave us the tools and a few universal rules to use as a map to the truth. The truth is that we have the ability to choose our destiny, find peace of mind at all times
