While some may feel that Father's Day is not a legitimate holiday, it is most certainly a day to be celebrated and all father's who are in existence (or at least most anyway), deserve the very best that we can give them. Although we should be celebrating all that they do for us throughout the year, we must face the fact that life becomes busy and sometimes we take for granted the precious opportunities we are given to show them our thanks. This is why Father's Day is so important, as is its observance.
There are also some who may argue that this is a day for the children to show their gratitude and love for their dad, but I beg to differ. As a mother, I am caught in a whirlwind of gratitude everytime I look at my husband just for the simple fact that if it were not for him, I would not be blessed with the children that God gave to me. For this fact alone, I feel that it is not just the sole responsibilty of my children to make my husband feel loved and appreciated on his special day. So the following are a few things that I like to do for my man when the calendar calls his name.
PREPARE A SPECIAL MEAL
Now this does not necessarily have to mean breakfast because my husband isn't a fan of early morning munching. What it does mean is that you have to be in tune enough with your spouse to know what will make his tastebuds do cartwheels and have him looking at you with stars in his eyes. You know what they say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!
PURCHASE WITH YOUR HEART
By this I mean that rather than looking at the price tag to make your man happy, buy him something out of love. Of course you have to know your mate and his personal tastes, but when you purchase with your heart, it shouldn't be too difficult. Case in point, when I first began dating my husband, it was three weeks before Father's Day. I desperately wanted to find him something special because he had swept me off my feet and had already proven himself to be a wonderful role model for my four year old son. I remembered that he said he liked Harley Davidson's and he was also aspiring to become a race car driver like his dad. Amazingly enough I found him a plaque in the Hallmark store with a picture of a Harley on it that said "Realize Your Dreams." Perfect! I bought with my heart and to this day, he still displays that plaque proudly.
TAKE OVER HIS RESPONSIBILITIES
Treat dad to a day of a little R & R while you take over the yard work, gutter cleaning and touch up painting that might need to
