The first thing that comes to mind when the word 'vacation' is muttered is, without a doubt - the beach! Sand, sun and surf - yes, those are the makings of a real vacation! For the more avid vacationers, there might be a tried and true beach place that is visited time and time again. For those that like to explore and take some chances, the beach location changes from vacation to vacation. No matter which category you fall into, you will agree that the beach is the way to go. With the thousands of beaches across the nation, there are many opportunities for exploration. One never tires of seeing the endless stretches of sand, coupled with waves crashing along the beach, leaving behind a frothy white wonderland!

Pina coladas, strawberry daiquiris and margaritas in hand - couples and singles alike lounge in the basking sun, watching in awe at the kids building sand castles down the way - and laughing at the occasional bathing suit mishap. There is something to be said about a vacation on the beach, and more often than not, it is a word that starts with R: Relaxation. The beach instantly relaxes you, and makes you feel lazy all at the same time! Nothing could be better for some much-needed time away from home - where the troubles of working, cooking and cleaning seem to disappear the moment you step off the plane into your own tropical paradise.

Once your feet hit the hot sand, all your troubles seem to melt away. The stress of the office is left behind, the hectic schedules that leave us no time to ourselves disappear and the burden of having to cook and clean and "keep house" become a very distant memory - if only for a week, many times this is all that is needed to rejuvenate our bodies and our minds.

Two of the hardest decisions one will have to make once they decide to embark on a beach vacation are white sand or black sandblue water or green? Yes, these are the two most difficult decisions one will face when facing a beach vacation destination. Those that are in favor of a more mystical feel, with lush vegetation surroundings, should opt for the dark sand and green water. If you prefer a more tropical feel with bright floral surroundings, you should choose the white sand and blue water locations. Both will make your troubles disappear but will provide you with different views of the "beach" worlds that exist out there.

No matter your location or the color of the sand or the water, the beach is the way to go for your vacation destination. Relax and enjoy the sun, sand and surf and don't forget to tip your beach wait staff (yes, just another luxury of a beach vacation)!
