Father's Day is a day set aside to show fathers love and respect as well as to honor them and let them know they appreciated. It is common practice to give gifts. The greatest gift of all comes from the heart. The gift your father may love the most would be just a few words from you.

"I love you," is a wonderful Father's Day saying. Many times, dads get overlooked. Fathers are busy providing for the family and "taking care of business." The are often seen as the disciplinarian in the family. These are just a few reasons why those three little words may not be heard as often as they should be. Take advantage of this Father's Day and say "I love you" to the father in your life.

"Thank you," is another good Father's Day saying. Don't just thank your father for that new bike he got you. Thank him for loving you. Thank him for being there for you when you needed him. Thank him for teaching you right from wrong. Thank him for providing for you. Thank him for being funny or sensitive or stern - whatever personality trait that you love the most about him.

"I'd like you even if you weren't my Dad." What a way to tell your dad you think he is great on Father's Day. Most fathers wonder if their children would love them if they "didn't have to." This Father's Day, take the time to let your dad know he is a good man, whether he was your dad or not.

"I respect you, Dad," is a great Father's Day saying. Respect is earned and let your father know he has earned your respect. Give him a few details as to why you respect him. Does (did) can to provide for you? Did he ever discipline you and, now as you are older, glad he did because you learned a valuable lesson? Did he set a good example for you by living a good life? These are a few reasons you can share with him as to why you respect him.

"I know you did your best," is something every dad should hear on Father's Day. He knows he isn't perfect. He knows he made mistakes. And, he knows you know this. Guilt can be a horrid prison for a father. Set him free from that prison and let him know that you love and respect for him for just trying to be the best.

"If it wasn't for you, I don't know where I would be today," is a thoughtful thing to say to your dad on Father's Day. He is proud of you, of your accomplishments. Whether you just graduated from medical school or you are getting ready for the second grade, he has had a hand in how well you have done. Let him know that.

"Remember when you and I" is a thoughtful thing to tell your
