Wedding tips for the bride
I can give many a tip, although I am by no means a fountain of knowledge. I do hope that the tips below will help in t he unfortunate case of a mishap on your wedding day or that of your friend, sister etc. Most of the tips here I attribute to my mum, so thanks to her for these and thanks to her for sharing them with me.
How to hide dark circles under you eyes
Use cold compresses, these can be made from tea-bags.
Always use none herbal tea's though. Because the ingredient you need Tanic Acid', is not present in most herbal teas.
You will need to steep the tea-bags in warm water for 2 mintues, then place the tea bags in ice cold water.
Squeeze the tea-bags to get rid of excess juice , then you should relax on the sofa, feet up and place and leave a tea-bag on each eye (closed) for approx 7-10 minutes.
The tanic acid should reduce the bags and in some cases they may disappear altogether. Good Luck!
How to ease a rash
I can sympathise with this one, as I get a nervous rash and had it on my wedding day.
My rash was itchy and like prickly heat'. My suggestion is to use ice to cool the area. Do this by putting crushed ice or frozen peas inside a pillow case or tea-towel and placing this on the rash. It helps by coling the area, it lessened the itch for me and the bumbly skin seemed to ease.
I was prepared though if this had not worked to hide the area (The back of my arms) with a shawl. So that might be a suggestion too!
Marks on the bridal gown
The usual culprit on a wedding day is make-up.
My mother told me that if you rub chalk/ or sprinkle talcum powder on the stain it will soak up.the mark. I have to say I never tried it, Obviously once it has soaked it up you can sweep away the chalk dust/ Talcum powder away and hopefully reveal a stain-less gown.
If you must have a cup of tea or coffee, my suggestion is to put a towel over your front, but my mother would say that it should lift with a dot of liquid soap (Clear) and a little bit of water. You should dab this on the back of the stain not the front. You shouldn't rub it or use too much water, just enough to wet it.
My tip for other drinks is to steer clear of anything that will stain and if you are accident prone like me, just absatin or drink with a napkin in front of you etc.
I know that you should be thinking of how wonderful your day is going to be and not fretting, but I also know as a fairly recent bride, worrying is the main things that you do do, whether or not you should...So here me raising a glass to you and wishing you all the very best on your special day and...
Good Luck!
