Allah promised in the Al-Quran Surah Al-Ghafir, verse 60 as translated by Dr Mohsin: "And your Lord said: Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness ( Isl mic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything ) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, ( Isl mic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!" (60)
There is not a single Muslim who prayed for something which is nothing to do with sins or an effort to destroy a relationship except be granted by Allah with one of the three things: The prayers is answered immediately, he will be protected from any misfortune or any similar ill-fated. They (best friends) asked: What if we repeated many times? Rasulullah answered: Allah will increase the grant According to the Hadith (The practice of Prophet Muhammad) as narrated by Ahmad, al-Bazzar, Abu Ya'la and al-Hakim:
Be patience. The answers may be delayed due to reasons only known to Allah. For instance, you pray for a taxi as you are late for an appointment. Two empty taxis came along, but both refused to stop even when you put up both hands to stop them. Five minutes later, a third one stopped to pick you up. You reached the place of the appointment safe and sound, though a bit late. It's better late then never, isn't it.
Who knows if the first taxi had broken down while the second one had an accident? Allah blessed you for praying to Him in times of difficulty and has protected you. Allah answered with a better option for you.
Allah may not grant you your wish yet because it may be that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allh knew but you do not know. He may even have answered with something which is better for you at that very moment without you realizing it. For instant you pray for a lot of money and wealth. Allah knew wealth would not make you any better, but since you sincerely asked for it. Allah replaced it with a very good health. You may not realize it.
Again when your prayer is not answered, it may be Allah reserved it for you for the day of Judgement.
Allah does not answer those who prays half-heartedly and the dreamers. However, we should not give up, even if we have repeated the prayers thousands of time. We must focus and pray with hope. Muslims who asked Allah for anything will be much loved by Him. Those who do not ask from him, would make Him Angry.
