I was so eagerly waiting for this movie that when it came in the theatre, I could not stop myself to go and watch it on the first day itself. The previous 3 sequels of Indiana Jones had all cashed a lot on the Box Office and the movie experts were waiting eagerly to see the fate of this latest flick from Steven SpielBerg. Also I think since Harrison Ford has been playing the role of Indiana Jones ever since, I have got used to his acting and started liking it.
The movie starts with Jones and his friend being kidnapped by the Russians y\to find some old mummy kept by the Americans in one of their secret confinements. You will not be let down as Jones starts showing his prowess in expeditions by using some cool tricks to track down the mummy. Soon after you can see him escaping from the Russians, you will be wondering if he is still as young as he was in the first Indiana Jones movie. Later on the story takes many turns with one of the old friends of Jones being kidnapped by Russians in search of crystal skulls. The myth is that if a person has all the crystal skulls, he can control anything and anybody in this world. Finally Jones embarks on a journey of pure adventure and fantasy to explore of the Kingdom of crystal skull.
The movie is full of architectural marvels, unexpected events, beautiful locales, too much history and archaeological facts etc, but with Jones guiding you all the way in the movie, you won't be lost and enjoy every moment of it. The end is superb and I am in no way going to unveil the end and ruin the true pleasure to watch the movie for the first time.
Although movie reviews are not meant to be longer than this but since I have started talking about the movie, may be I can discuss and compare this latest Indiana Jones movie with the old ones. In some way this movie is quite different from the old ones since science and technological explorations form a great part of this movie unlike the old ones where mostly the history and archaeological facts were the guiding cues. The star cast pretty much limited as always and only Jones being given the steering to drive the movie to wherever it leads. For the first time and may be the last time (if this is the last Indiana Jones movie) you will see Indiana Jones being a married guy although he does not know about it for most part of it. Oh did I reveal more than I was expected? I think I should just stop here. I would say its worth watching this movie.
