to the scene of the crime that had wiped out her previous crew. Backed by a gang of hard as nails space marines and hell bent on revenge they again face the Alien creatures in an attempt to make the universe a safer place, but its never as simple as that, is it? Great effects and fantastic backdrops, high-tech, high-octane action and the best monster ever created in sci-fi cinema history.
5. Interview with the Vampire
Brad Pitt again, but don't think that I fancy him or anythingerr where was I? Brad Pitt plays a man turned into a Vampire in the eighteenth century who can't quite accept who he now is. Turning against his mentor and heading out into the dark world of his fellow night breed, we follow his story through to the present day. His eyes are opened to the real state of affairs and he realises the truth is that most of the population live in a controlled placebo type environment that keeps them unaware that the world is really governed by a non-human intelligence. Moving between the slick and clean virtual world that has been imposed upon them and the decaying world of reality this film is as much a hit for the brain as it is for the eyes. The idea that we could be living in a fabricated existence controlled from the outside, without realising it, is an idea that resonates in the mind long after the film is over. The Buddhist philosophy aside this is a fast paced action flick first and foremost and the combination of special affects and original story line makes it one to return to time and
