If God created everything, who created God

by Pope

Created on: June 06, 2008

See, this is one of the many problems with people. Everything has to have a beginning and an end, it can't be any other way for people. Everyone always uses the the word "forever" pretty loosely. Like, "I waited FOREVER in line to see Indiana Jones IV" (Which is a complete fabrication, it took us about two second to get in) or "This traffic is gonna take FOREVER to move!" The simple truth is, humans can't comprehend forever. Something has to have a point of birth or creation, and then after a period of time (long though it may be) everything has an end or a death.

That's not the way things are.

Just because we as humans have a beginning and an end doesn't mean that everything else out there has one too. God is forever. He doesn't have a beginning, he doesn't have an end; he simply IS. He WAS before we were here, He's here now, and He'll be here forever after we join him in his Kingdom (at least I hope you'll join us in His Kingdom.) It's that simple, but at the same time pretty much impossible to get into your head. Not everything has a creation; they just are. And now I'm getting the feeling that if I stay on the topic of forever that I'm going to end up repeating myself tirelessly. So as a nice sum-up of everything I just said, God has always been, He had no creation, He'll have no end, and He always will be. Forever is forever, just because we had a beginning doesn't mean EVERYTHING is like us. (Dang. Looks like I repeated myself anyway.)

So, since I have a nice some-odd amount of characters to fill up, I'll address a similar issue, just because. I really don't want to get any emails complaining about how I'm not perfectly politically correct about every little thing I say, so I'm going to try my hardest to make every single statement the exact opposite of a blanket statement (whatever that is).

I always find it funny when an atheist I used to know would bring up God and how He "doesn't exist" (he just LOVED telling me that), and when I'd tell him that he was wrong, he'd say, "Well, Chris, if God created everything, who created God?" Then he'd get this triumphant smile, like he'd completely trapped me into the "God's Fake" Corner. And so my former friend fell into the group that basically everyone else is in. The group of "Everything HAS to have a beginning! NO MATTER WHAT!" Oh, yes. Very good point, indeed.

It was a little hard to write about something as simple as "God is forever" without repeating myself endlessly, or just ending up writing very poorly (which I do anyway). So I get the distinct feeling that this is going to be another very low rated article. Oh well. I decided against following the Helium Stewardess's advice to help get me some writing stars. So be it.
