Going green means that people do not knowingly violate the laws of nature. They are protective because they believe that the earth is in need of help in healing itself. As a community, as a nation, and as a world, people are consuming more than the earth is able to replenish. Environmentalist know this must stop. Toward the cause of a green life style, youturn out lights when no longer in use; turn off the television when no one is watching it; drive cars only when there are no better ways of getting around. Leftovers are opportunities to create a new menu item and to reuse freezer storage bags and, rather than throw usable items away, give them to charity. Read and research about the necessity for conserving our natural resources, and creatively think of ways of conserving energy. Incorporate these habits into your lifestyle andyou will be green.
Living green will be a way of life in the future: if enough people believe in what the television commentators and the newspaper headlines tell us. And and for it to work everyone must believe it. No longer can anyone ignore the warnings about overuse all of natural resources; instead they must stop contributing to the problem and become a part of the solution.
How is this done? First all must convince themselves that even one small effort put forth will count in the overall effect. Take the example of recycling, as one example, show others the necessity for doing this and they, in turn, will show by their example and pretty soon a whole neighborhood will be going green'.
This is easy to say, or to write about, but it takes commitment and lots of courage. Those going green ask themselves if they're willing to go against the norm and ask the carry out boy at the grocery store to pack there groceries in the cloth grocery bag they've brought along. To live according to what your conscience dictates takes courage in the little things of life as well in the bigger things in life. You must never allow yourself to become stalled in your better efforts by what other people think or say.
