Leave Me Alone
In this room
on the phone
across countries
over oceans
under sheets,
I hear your feet
tap, tapping away
getting farther each day
as you leave me
alone, with love
half measured,
messages late,
forgotten dates,
with I'm not sure
and I don't know,
with maybe, perhaps,

if only
you could see me
but i don't,

leave me alone.
i cross the skies
with all my whys
and ever each empty
seat beside me
is for you. Are you
fact or are you fiction,
I have become
your contradiction
You leave me alone
even if my love
does not know
how to leave you.
