To restate your claim, "can rap music really be considered
Music?" In my opinion the definition of music is a form of entertainment
That is pure where anyone can be who they are. Never the less Music is open to ridicule or praise, but the fact remains that music is in your face and that you had to deal with it like it or not.
And you individual attack on rap music declaring that you don't know or believe that rap music
is real music or not. The plain and simple thing is that rap music is meant for people who can understand or "decode" the real life messages the artists is trying to put out there. And music does not see in "Black and white," However music is colorful. For example country music has subdivisions in it country gospel, country love songs, etc...
If you as an appreciator of "real" music if you can understand your favorite genre of what you consider "real" music. And can't or does not try to understand a totally opposite genre of music than does that not make you close-minded or narrow-minded. Me personally as a fellow MUSIC appreciator takes your attack on one of my favorite genres of music a little bit offensive and raciest.
For you to express your appreciation or un-appreciation of this particular genre of music your readers are receiving the message that simply because you may not understand the majority of rap artists in the music industry are "black" or of African American decent. But as I said earlier real music does not see in "black and white" meaning that any genre of music does not appeal to any one race just because the artists is of their descent it appeals to any person that can relate to the song or genre.
To answer your question or respond to your statement of "Can rap be really be considered music," I say yes it can rap has different subsections or sub categories, it also has emotion as you would see in any other genre of music as in some of my favorites Hip hop, R&B, Rap, Latin, Counry, 60s, 70s, 80s, and rock and roll. So Absolutely rap is and can be considered as real music and I am appalled that anyone would diminish another person's form of recreation or self-expression as classifying it in an unknown field is just disrespectful of that genre, the individuals who built or created it, the people who stand for it, the people who literally live it, And the people who eat think and sleep and breath it through out their lives is Just plain DIS-RESPECTFUL.
