Water Remembers

Even though homeopathy mitigated my symptoms quickly and effectively, I'm still a person who has to understand "why" something works. For some reason, the whole "like cures like" explanation did not work for me. I had not yet opened myself to certain paradigms, and the whole sympathetic thing was lost on me. My empirical senses were telling me that it was working fabulously, but the idea that the remedy was vibratory - that there was no actual substance left after dilution and succussion, only the essence of the material, confounded me.

Then one day I read a book by University of Arizona's Dr. Gary Schwartz called The Living Energy Universe. In a chapter titled, "Water Remembers," there was a discussion of scientific studies that had been conducted which demonstrated that water retains the memory of a stimulus after that stimulus is removed. I could not get those studies out of my mind. What were those little homeopathic grains anyway but sugar pills - sugar and water.

Later I discovered the works of Dr. Masaru Emoto who also conducted scientific and metaphysical studies regarding the memory of water. It all began to fall into place - diluting the solution to make homeopathic remedies left the impression of the substance upon the water - the vibrations of the substance. Then succussion strengthened the vibrations.

The opening of that little corner of understanding in my mind became a gateway flood to comprehending quantum concepts leading to many other happy revelations and paradigm shifts. I began to use those concepts in my teaching which had students, hungry for knowledge, sitting on the edge of their seats. Always I would begin by holding up my little vial of homeopathic remedy. "This is a little bottle of miracle," I would say, "or is it? Is it magick or science?"

Phillip Pullman might call it Dust. It is the living essence of a substance which entwines with our own to create harmony. Yes, like cures like in the simplest sense. Like a tuning fork, our bodies, minds, and spirits receive the essence and attune themselves to its healing. It has the power to resolve dis-ease.

Water remembers that with which we imbue it. If you believe in the power of Holy Water, you can believe in the essence of homeopathy. If you believe in the power of the spoken word, you can believe in the essence of homeopathy. If you understand the power of love and laughter to heal, then you will have no trouble accepting that water remembers and heals.
