RPG or Role Playing Game enables you to take on the role of the main character and venture in his perspective. Finding the right RPG would mean to find the right story, and more importantly, the representation of the story you would like to witness. You may be the type to be situated in a ancient-fantasy world with mythical monsters, whereas others may prefer a more futuristic model with aliens or others. In terms of the world, the characters, storyline, and other features, it is but a personal preference.

RPGs come in many flavours and types. Two distinct categories are real-time, and turn-based. Real-time RPGs enables the main character to traverse the lands and fight enemies on the same plains. Turn-based usually involve separate battle scenes from the flow of the story, and movement across the worlds. Game play would be a major component. Most recent RPGs are packed with mini-games that may be simple tasks as part of the story line to ones that might even occupy you more time than the game itself.

Age category and quality may be another issue. The age rating on RPG games often deduce quality. The higher the age group, the more detailed the graphical representations. It differentiates animations with distinct blood-battles and those that tell death by words. This also follow with the storyline, as those for higher age groups tend to be more sophisticated and complex.
