Choosing between being clever or being good-looking

Beauty and intelligence are the two things that can never be 100 percent. Just like in reality, true perfection can never be achieved as there's always a better performance awaiting the current one, pure beauty or complete intelligence can never be attained. A person who is terrific to look at can still be not called the most beautiful person on earth because there would still be someone more good looking than him. And while someone is very intelligent it would be unwise to say that he has never committed any act of foolishness. Though they, i.e. beauty and intelligence can not be independently achieved, both complement each other which results in a complete personality.

Through a distance, both beauty and intelligence seem quite a differing and deviating pair, but on a closer look they are mutually dependent upon each other. We can clarify the fact with the help of two very practical examples: Suppose you are ready to buy a very beautiful house, so beautiful to look at that you couldn't find such a house in the whole state. But there are a few problems; the house is far away from any human habitation and moreover is structurally unsound. "Would you still go for the decision of buying the house?" I know I wouldn't and hope neither would you because it would be a very unintelligent decision which could result in serious consequences .Now lets move from our good for nothing beautiful house to say, your first date. Which person had you chosen to take? Was it the most intelligent but plain looking guy that you took? Or the homely girl which always ranked as the best in your class (of course academically)? Sure enough they were the best in the class but it was not just the intelligence you were looking on your first date, were you?

So the point gets a little clearer now, that pure beauty doesn't help you any better than plain intelligence does. And that's a good news for us average looking ones who swing between beauty and intelligence. For We are neither the traffic stopping beauties or the mind boggling geniuses. But we sure are placed in a perfect position.

I know it hurts when every other day researchers tell us that good looking people get better pay then their plain looking colleagues while beautiful patients get more personalized treatment from their doctors. Attractive students get higher grades from their teachers and if that is not all, handsome criminals receive lighter sentences than not so handsome ones. So what do we do? Shout and cry until we
