Inspirational Flag Day poems

Created on: June 05, 2008   Last Updated: June 06, 2008

Some stand with their hands over their hearts facing the flag to say the Pledge Of Allegiance. Some sing The Star Spangled Banner at a ball game. This is to pay respect to the U.S. flag, also known as "Old Glory". A symbol of democracy and independence for the United States Of America. May we all live up to the glory of the flag and all it represents.
In observation of Flag Day, June 14th. I submit this, my Inspirational Flag Day Poem.

The Flag Of Our Country

As I look to the sky

it is a wonderful sight that I see.

With grace, beauty, and pride

flying high, the flag of our Country.

Red and white and blue

honest and great colors for our flag.

Oh! How our Country so quickly grew

and it is ours, so let us brag.

This wonderful flag is a symbol for the birth

of this, the great United States.

We will stand by it for all it's worth

with honor, never will we hesitate.

We are patriotic and we are free

we are loyal and courageous.

As always we give our thanks to Thee

our prayers were answered as You encouraged.

And we shall always honor those that we lost

as they gave, for this Country, their all.

So fly the flag high, and do not let it fall

for it represents the greatest Nation of them all.

You wish to display your flag you say

to show your colors true.

Then it must be done in just the right way

but, alas, some have no clue.

Fly your flag high up on a flag pole

unless it is to be flown at half mast.

Play your part in this role

done as always since the days of past.

Your flag is to be displayed high above

to the left of any non-national flag.

This is to be done with much pride and love

with honor, display your flag.

If you are up on a stage

display your flag to the speakers right.

It really is all the rage

and quite the wonderful sight.

If your flag is to hang high above a street

with no flag pole on the wall.

Hang your flag vertically, and keep it neat,

with the stars facing North or East of all.

If you hang your flag over the sidewalk

with no available staff or flag pole.

Not one person will ever sulk

when your stars face away from the building as a whole.

If your flag is to be hung inside

display it vertically or even horizontally.

With the stars showing on the left

and with the stars on the top rightfully.

Take pride in the flag you fly

for this, our United States.

The freedom symbolized flying high

came with life and limb at stake.

Hold up high your head

show everyone your great pride.

Our flag it is said

will always be by your side.
