Take a moment to stop and think about where your life is right now. To truly evaluate one's life, you must first take some time alone. Look back at where you have been and the decisions you have been making. Think about how the choices you have made have directly affected your life situation right now. When you can look back and clearly see where you went wrong and understand why, you are ready to start turning your life around.
Forgive yourself and others. Finding a place deep inside for forgiveness is very important. Realizing that you aren't perfect and that you must make mistakes to become a better person help you to grow.Taking the time to love who you are as well as others will lift a large weight off of your shoulders. Nothing good can come from holding a grudge. Nasty feelings of hate and resentment are the only thing that can come from it. Try making a promise to yourself to let things go in the future, therefore, eliminating the stress and unhappiness these feelings will cause.
Be accepting. Accept yourself and any changes your life may bring. Being content and living in the moment are also important. Thinking about all of the things that aren't exactly how you want them or how your life isn't how you imagined it, are very unhealthy. Life is full of disappointment! Just learn to work through curveballs. Enjoy the life you have been given, It may not be how you "think" it should be, but you only have one to live so be happy with what you have. If you feel it needs working on, work on it! Take it day by day. Realizing that you can be happy living moment to moment while working towards a more satisfying future is key!
Get creative. Find something to do! Take a look at all of your creative options. Whether it be painting, carpentry, collecting, sports, etc. Whatever it is that tickles your fancy! Try plunging into something that keeps you busy and is productive. Hobbies will help to fill voids and give you some sort of purpose, as well as igniting good conversation! Gain respect for humankind.
If you look around every day and make it a point to notice the positive qualities in other people, you will be surprised at how much happier you will be. Surround yourself with more positive people. Taking the time to be kind and having compassion for others is a huge deal. The saying "Treat others as you would want to be treated", is a wonderful example to live by.
Taking steps towards making your life a more positive experience takes time. Patience and the will to learn are vital in changing your life for the better. If you can accept and learn from the twists and turns life brings, the little things that once brought you down before, will cease to exist. Focus on the good things in life. Life is way too short to keep going down a negative road to nowhere!
