Evil is the nature of humanity. The evidence of man's inherent evil is apparent in the everyday words, thoughts, and actions of rebellious man. Man has rebelled against God from the very beginning of his existence here on earth. This is because man in not a perfect being.
Human beings are typically made of flesh and bone. They tend to follow, rather than resist their physical drives and instincts. This tendency puts them in a state of sin against God, the creator. According to the bible, man was made in God's image. This concerns the spiritual aspect of man, not the physical. The physical self includes the body and blood of man, as well as man's intellectual reasoning skills. It is the capacity for intellectual reasoning that separates mankind from those of lower mammals. No other mammal on earth has the ability to reason and choose to do or not to something, the way a human can. Humans can choose whether or not to engage in in sex for the pure pleasure of the act act or to participate in it for procreation. Choices like these can be made by no other animals on earth, but mankind.
Man has the ability to control his primitive urges and drives through intellectual reasoning and meaningful communication with God through prayer. Human beings fall prey to their own desires when they seek to constantly satisfy them rather than seek spiritual satisfaction or solutions to their problems and desires. The inevitable result of this activity is sin. Offending God through sinning can sometimes become repetitive, remorseless, and impenitent for those who lack a true and clear relationship with their creator.
God sent us his only son, Jesus Christ, to provide us with a mediator between us and him, and as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. Without the the intercession of God in our lives, we humans would fall into a state of depravity, sin and rebellion against God. Constantly seeking satisfaction of physical, emotional, and monetary pleasure through means that place us in a state of sin. Human beings may commit horrendous acts against others, themselves, and God in the pursuit of their worldly desires. Acts which would make them seem evil in the eyes of their fellowman and merciful creator.
Man is by far imperfect in the flesh and evil by nature, but the image or the spirit can be made perfect by God. God is the answer to man's imperfections. The only way out from under sin is to seek God. Sin is rebellion against God and since man is imperfect and sins against God, man is inherently evil by nature.
