US elections 2008: Why to choose Obama over McCainEvery single time I listen to Barack Obama speak, I get Goosebumps. Sometimes I can even feel a tear or two well up. It's funny to me that I react this way. I'm traditionally a libertarian - a neo-conservative libertarian at that. I will vote libertarian, under the right circumstances, as often as I can. But what then does this democratic nominee for president have that stirs me so greatly? It is the hope for relief and change. I've done my homework. I have read about McCain and Obama's platforms. And, here is the honest difference between them as far as I can see: McCain seems to honestly be an extension of the past eight years of Bush. This fact scares me greatly, troubles me deeply. I do not feel that the American people can handle another four years of the state of affairs in this country. McCain does not seem to recognize the true issues that are presently threatening the American people, then again, neither did Bush. The American people are afraid. Everyday jobs are lost, the price of oil is sky rocketing, and health insurance costs soar further and further out of reach. Family homes are being yanked away from parents due to low wages, increasing taxes, and unpredictable interest rates. The gap between the extremely rich and the extremely poor has widened so greatly that little middle class stratification seems left. These are the very things that American nightmares are made of and they all seem to be set aside by Senator McCain. On the other hand, Barack Obama seems to care. His platform has it's foundations in fixing these very problems. He has answers to our desperation. He stands for hope. He wants to give the individual their power and their pride back through reforms to healthcare, jobs and wages, overseas tax exemption revocation. He stands to restore America to it's former glory where everyone has a chance, not just the wealthy. And, considering the current state of America, this is exactly what is needed. Although I am traditionally inclined to vote another direction, I've changed my mind for this election. Sometimes, as American history has proven, we need some rattling of the trends to rise above deadly stagnancy. I believe that now is one of those times. I believe that Barack Obama is the man to do it. To restore the American dream is the very reason that I am choosing Obama over anyone else for the next four years.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN THE HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION
A bold statement perhaps, but one that I will do my best to defend.
The choice before the Americans is so stark that it is surprising that there is a contest at all. Obama and Biden offer
It seems the choice comes down to Barack Obama and John Mc Cain. So who of these limited choices would make the best President.
Unfortunately, my view of Barack Obama has wained a bit since the end of the primary season. He said all the right things
I can think of plenty of reasons to vote for Barack Obama for president! First and maybe most importantly, he...uh...well
