Women entrepreneurs and franchising

Since the beginning of this country as we know it, the entrepreneurial spirit is what has

driven this country. Weather it be a large corporation, a business ran out of a small

building, or an online business. As we all know, in these days and times we certainly need

entrepreneurs who have the next great idea for starting a new business.

It has been said from some of the most successful people, that no matter how successful you

may become, you want a career doing something you're passionate about. Because it's what

you'll be doing for the rest of your life. And ladies lets face it, who wants to put all

that time and effort into something our hearts just aren't into. So for your sake and those

around you ,make sure it will be something you'll enjoy doing.

When it comes to choosing the right company to franchise from, do your homework. Check out

the companies profit growth ,and standings in the community's they currently operate out of.

And be sure to find out how much it will cost to franchise from them. Be sure to factor in

lawyer fee's, equipment purchases, utilities, leasing fee's and insurance cost's.

Ladies, most of us have the unique talent to multi-task and organize things in our lives.

These unique talents play a crucial role in the start-up and the long gevity of a business.

You certainly need a business plan in order to present your idea to your investor or

investor's. Weather it be from a private investor or a bank. You may want to look into

government grants, angel investors, friends and family.

Most states have a wonderful resource for women who are looking to start a business. Call or

go to your local small business chapter. I do suggest if at all possible to enroll yourself

in some business classes and even some money management classes so that your better informed

on key factors on starting and maintaining your business. I'm not saying you'll fail if you

don't get a degree, I'm just saying you might have an easier go at it by being a bit more

educated then say the next person.

No matter what, you need patience and confidence in what it is you choose to pursue. People

will be drawn to your enthusiasm. So try to stay positive. Stay focused and take on a "Never

quit, never die" attitude. This will help prepare you for the long hard road ahead. There

are no easy rides ladies. So surround yourself with people who will encourage and support

your dreams.

Find mentors in the area your looking to start your business in. Take notes and ask crucial

questions. In fact make a list of questions you feel are important to your unique business

needs. And pay attention to what your mentor does to run there business.

Get into buying business magazine's and book's. Conduct your own Internet research

pertaining to the business your looking to get into. Ask questions of strangers, unique to

your business. Like, "Would you use this product"? Or, "Would you suggest anything that

might make this product better"? This will lead you to a better understanding of how your

business will be taken by the general public. It will also open your eye's to things you

may have overlooked or just not thought about.

Make list's and set goals for the week, month, day and year ahead. Try to make your goal's

as realistic as possible. No it won't be easy but if you believe in yourself and the

business you have chosen. The journey will be well worth it in the end.
