Poetry: Struggle in life

Created on: June 03, 2008

Is it really worth it
life in itself
looking out over what I could have
I hate the curse of wealth
it's all a dream, by others made
this life we wish to feel
it's all a lie, by ourselves told
realization, just too real
love is just a fairytale
we dream of that first kiss
and then to end the pain of it
we grab at what we wont even miss
everything looks like joy
when it is not your own
be careful what you wish for
forever with you lies the moan
we are supposed to be loved forever
but who could promise this
instead what stays with us is the uncertainty
the hurt that we wont miss
and then we look around again
faces smiling at each other
but when you turn your back
you miss the scowls at one another
and so it's what it's always been
life is most definitely not what it seems
and everything begins with love
and ends with broken dreams
but somehow we will always hope
and lovers will always be
why people keep on standing tall
is life's biggest mystery
