Having played the trial version of the came I found it interesting and enjoyable. While I don't usually play games where I have to find hidden objects, the basis of this one makes it worth playing. Here you are not only finding hidden objects, you are actually solving a number of murders.
You begin as a detective assigned to investigate the crime scene. You must try to discover the identity of the victim, the cause of death and hopefully discover the identity of the murderer. This is done by finding various objects lying around the crime scene. After discovering all the objects, you search the scene further by clicking on objects that are glowing. These objects produce more clues. Once you have found everything there is to find you return to the station and hand your evidence over to the lab technician.
As the lab technician you must evaluate the evidence. You do this by solving puzzles. Before you can solve the puzzles you must again find hidden objects. Your first puzzle is to correctly line up bottles of chemicals based on clues written on the bottles. If you are even slightly logical this puzzle is not a problem. You then test the evidence by using the chemicals in the bottles to determine exactly what was found at the scene.
On occasion you will need to collect additional information by talking to people who know the victim. As with the detective and lab technician, here you must find hidden objects and solve puzzles to acquire the information.
The trial version only allows you to play for one hour. Hardly enough time to solve the mystery. I was able to finish one investigation and found that the second murder had a similar MO.
This leads me to believe that even though the first investigation leaves unanswered questions, as with real cases you have to investigate a number of related cases before you are able to solve the mystery. My trial version ended as I was about to question a suspect, leaving me anxious to continue at the first available opportunity.
As an avid fan of both puzzles and mysteries I would highly recommend this game. I rate it at 5/5.
