A Child's Prayer
Dear God, I'm so thankful I don't know what to do,
I'm thankful for lotsa things, but I''ll name just a few.
Thank you God, for my mommy and dad,
Even though sometimes they make me real mad.
And thank you God, for my brothers an' sisters,
Even though at times, they're as fun as sore blisters.
Thank you God, for my ev'ry single friend,
Even though they don't give me back what I lend.
Thank you God, for my talents an' abilities,
But could you make me taller please?
An' thank you God, for all you have done,
An' thank you for givin' us your Son.
Well these are some of the things I'm thankful for,
I'm sleepy right now, but tomorrow I'll think of more.
So goodnight God an' sleep real tight,
Tell Jesus not to let the bedbugs bight!
