Reading is very important in our daily life. It helps us understand what is going around us and by reading we are transported to explore the different areas of knowledge. One who doesn't know how to read could not widen his knowledge. It needs one to become a wide reader in order for him to understand his surroundings and the things that are happening around him. With reading, it is like traveling to places you haven't seen or heard about.

Reading is the best tool to broaden someone's knowledge. It comes in handy when the need arises. Even without traveling one could learn things around the world. What one reads is always stored in his mind and reading keeps increasing and widening one's knowledge. Reading keeps one's mind busy assimilating ideas that could broaden his learning. A person who does not read has a limited knowledge while a person who reads a lot is educating himself every time he reads about something. The mind doesn't stop collecting and storing ideas and informations that comes through reading.

Reading has been my hobby since I was a little girl. From the time I could understand about pictures, I was allowed access to books even if I didn't know how to read them. That was the start of my love for reading. Even in my remote place in the mountains in the year 1960's, we had access to English books which mostly came from Great Britain. As we grew older, we came to understand that English was a very important language used in all parts of this world. We were glad that we were taught English at a very early age because of reading English books. So that when we went to school it was easier to grasp the language and it was easier to express ourselves in the English language.

With so much books afforded us, we became book lovers and we read all kinds of books. It is always important to read because reading keeps us well informed about occurrences around us. By reading we can learn more and sharpen our minds. Reading also help us be prepared with any thing that comes our way.

A person who is a wide reader is storing knowledge in his mind that could help him in his career and everyday undertakings. Reading helps educate a man and give him all the information he needs. It is like traveling and looking at things with your own eyes. This explains why people who read too much are compared to people who are well traveled. Many things can be learned by reading. This is the reason why we need books and other reading materials to provide us with the things we should know and widen our education about different things in this world.
