I see it now.
Where we've been.
I can't believe I've not seen it before.
For are we truly alone?
I go alone.
I walk alone.
Yet, I'm not afraid.
I only wonder what has happened.
What am I doing here again?
Why is it this way?
I don't know.
I really don't.
I see myself standing on that beach,
Watching the waves lash against the sand
Over and over
And I think to myself,
"How is this?"
Touch a finger in the water
And you can watch the ripples continue
Out and out,
Never ending until it comes a point
Where you cannot see them.
Sure, it seems the other waves
Will overpower your small ones,
But they're still there.
Who knows?
Perhaps a friend over the sea
May be out there
When they receive the ripple.
They're likely not going to know it's there,
But they just still may be able to see it.
"I'm here," it says.
"You're not alone.
Don't be afraid."
Go ahead and touch the water.
I know you're there.
Please.
Come back to me.

Lost in a sea of faces.
